Design Technology at Padnell is a creative and dynamic subject in which pupils are encouraged to design and make products that solve specified problems. They will be encouraged to draw on their experiences of other subjects and knowledge to help them in achieving the tasks set. During each unit of work pupils will be asked to explore and evaluate existing products, design their own to meet specific criteria and practise skills and using equipment needed for the manufacture of their product before making and finishing their design. Evaluation and looking at how to solve problems encountered is a vital part of the processes taught.
